Set the unit on Auto, placed card into the section of the large slot and it came out looking like Picture 1. Next? An old CD (Video 1). Thought it would micro-cut the CD, but nope. Cut it into quarters (Picture 2). Kind of cool that, as shown, I just dropped it in and didn’t even need to push it down into the shredder. Sensitive Data could still be extracted from these large pieces by a forensics team. Chuck it into a fire to melt it if you have really sensitive data you’re disposing.I’m sure this thing will chew up paper with ease. I’ll order some oil to keep the blades from not getting dry and use every 3 months or so depending on usage. Solid little shredder. The pull out basket is great as I can just dump everything into a paper bag before putting into the recycle bin on garbage day.Note: Please check your local recycle laws/guidelines. In California, we’re requested to put shredded paper into a paper (recommended) or plastic (accepted) bag before putting it into the blue recycle bin. Otherwise, it’ll likely end up in a landfill somewhere instead of the intended recycling effort.

So I got this brand of shredder because my fiancé has it. He has something like the AU820MA. He likes it and I thought about getting the same one as him since his is a micro-cut as well and cheaper. But I got this because it’s in WHITE!!! Haha My office is very dark so I’m brightening it up with white desk, white air purifier and now a white shredder and it looks AWESOME! Bonus is it’s on wheels and is quiet and the front door opening!!!! The shredder head is pretty heavy and is a pain to lift and take out the shredded paper. But this version let’s you open from the front and has a peep hole to see if the bin is full… I love it. I have not tried shredding a credit card or paper with staplers and I don’t intend to. So I can’t comment on that. I bought this mainly for aesthetics 🙂
